The Story

What has changed in the diamond trade since 1980?
Maybe it is easier to ask, what hasn’t? When it comes to the sourcing, production, and selling of diamonds, things used to be controlled by a handful of big players. This resulted in inefficient, costly processes that were harmful to our planet. But today, you have the option of spending less without compromising your ethics, values, and of course, the diamond quality itself. Welcome to a world where high-quality, ethical diamonds are within reach.
Is there is any difference between Lab Grown and Earth grown Diamonds?
Lab grown diamonds are identical in all respects to mined diamonds. It has been found that there is no difference between the two in terms of chemical composition, specific gravity, hardness, and appearance.
A recent ruling from The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has broadened its definition of “diamond” to include those grown in a laboratory.
“When the Commission first used this definition in 1956 there was only one type of diamond product on the market – natural stones mined from the earth. Since then, technological advances have made it possible to create diamonds in a laboratory. These stones have essentially the same optical, physical, and chemical properties as mined diamonds. Thus, they are diamonds” . Read More

What about resale value?
If you are ever thinking of selling your diamond, the value can drop by around 10 to 30 percent of the purchase price, depending on where you bought it and to whom you sell it.
Imagine losing 30% of an old fashioned $10,000 diamond ring, as opposed to 30% of a lab grown diamond ring that is identical and only costs you $3,000. The loss will be $900 on a lab grown diamond versus $3,000 on an old fashioned one.
The above example generally holds true for most diamond ranges and values.
Moreover, if you wish to upgrade your ring, provided that the upgrade is at least twice the previous total purchased amount, we will give you 100% credit for your original center diamond towards the upgrade.
What do the experts say?
With over 36 years of experience in the industry, Ouri Shifman has some clear and simple advice: “There are so many reasons why you should choose a lab grown diamond. From the price and ethics to the reduction of pollution during mining, it is crystal clear that today’s world is moving towards a more sustainable future that includes an alternative to “old fashioned” diamonds”.
