Due to the fact that you don’t need they huge amount of resources and tools you would when mining, going lab grown means you not paying for massive behind the scene production costs. Sure, there are costs to produce lab diamonds, just like there costs to produce most things in life, but you are paying a truer and fairer price for the value of the product when it is made in controlled conditions.
Imagine a world where diamonds grow on trees. Well while that is yet to be found, in 2004 scientists have discovered a planet that they think is at least one third, if not mostly made up of diamonds! So next time you look into a telescope keep an eye out for a sparkling world named “55 Cancri e”.
